Name. That. Song. (Round #3 ~ Reformation)

(My apologies - I had almost decided to do away with this feature, but it's just too much fun. So here we are... hopefully I'll be back to doing this every two weeks once again!)

And our winner from the last round, (Name That Broadway) is...
~Lady Amanda~
With the correct answers of - "I Dreamed a Dream" - Les Miserables
"If I Were A Rich Man" - Fiddler on the Roof
"Defying Gravity" - Wicked
~*~ ~*~ ~*~ Congratulations! ~*~ ~*~ ~*~

And here's our next round!
This time we're focusing on the great hymns from the Reformation time period- which, I admit, is my favorite time period of hymn music. There is something so awe-inspiring about music that has lasted this long, and something unbelievably strong - I don't know, I'm loosing my rhetoric skills. ;) But anyhow, here we go - see what you can do with this. ;) Some of these are easier then others, and some don't have the first verse. :)

*Remember* No looking up of lyrics!

1)"Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing, were not the right man on our side, the man of God's own choosing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He! Lord Sabaoth his name, from age to age the same, And He must win the battle!"

2) "All people that on earth do dwell, sing to the Lord with cheerful voice. Him serve with mirth, his praise forth tell; come ye before him and rejoice. Know that the Lord is God indeed; without our aid he did us make; we are his folk, he doth us feed, and for his sheep he doth us take."

3) "Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature, O thou of God and man the Son, Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor, thou, my soul's glory, joy, and crown. Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands, robed in the blooming garb of spring: Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer who makes the woeful heart to sing." There you go... have fun! ;)

#1 is A Mighty Fortress is Our God by Martin Luther
#2 I know as Psalm 100A from the Psalter, as a Hymn it is called All People that on Earth do Dwell
#3 is Fairest Lord Jesus
That's the best I can do without looking, we've been using the Trinity for a hymnal of late and so the titles of the songs are pretty much the same as the first line in that. I don't know if your hymnal does it differently!:)
That was fun, I'm glad you are planning to continue!
